Yanma is a large red insect like a dragonfly. A bright green mask covers its face, its see-through wings have red bands, and its blue eyes see a full 360 degrees.

Lifestyle
A skillful flier, it hunts insects in woods and swamps and patrols its territory. Its very fast wings throw shock waves. It evolves into Yanmega.
In the anime
Zachary Evans's Yanma shatters glass because it cannot control its wings. Zachary abandons it, then gets it back after Team Rocket takes it.
Name origin
Yanma is based on a dragonfly, possibly the banded darter, and on the size of prehistoric griffinflies. The English name comes from Japanese yanma, a word for a dragonfly.
